Purposeful Pages, A Therapeutic Book Club
Reading, in general, is a well known and time-tested method to support mental health and well-being. Reading on your own is great, but evidence suggests reading and discussing deeper concepts with a group is even better! With such an abundance of amazing and insightful selections these days, its an ideal time to dig in deeper!
This therapist-led book club is designed as a supportive space for personal growth, emotional wellness, and purposeful connection. Meeting twice a month, the group explores thoughtfully selected self-help and emotional wellness literature that encourages self-reflection.
Discussions may be centered around applying the book's themes and insights to real-life experiences…creating opportunities for deeper self-awareness and intentional change. More than just a reading group, this book club is a guided space for self-care—offering members a chance to invest in their mental health, build emotional resilience, and connect with others who are similarly interest in their own personal development.
Join the “Purposeful Pages Book Club Facebook Group” where participants are encouraged to converse, ask questions, share their perspectives/opinions, etc. in-between meetings!
FAQs
-
The book club will meet twice a month to discuss the book that will be read throughout the month.
The first meeting will be focused on discussing the book/the book’s topic from a general sense. For ex: if the book is centered around boundaries, the group will collectively discuss their need for, experience, knowledge, familiarity, etc. with boundaries.
The second meeting will focus on discussing how the group related/connected to the book and insights from the book…then, how the knowledge gained from the reading can be integrated into one’s life.
Because both meetings of each month go hand-in-hand, it’s important for participants to be able to commit to both that month. However, if you can make one of the months, but not the next, that’s ok! You can hop in and out at your convenience!
-
We will meet twice a month, virtually.
Below, I have details for each month listed, including meeting dates and the book of the month! Once you RSVP, you’ll receive the meeting link for the month.
-
Each meeting will be an hour and a half long. The number of members for each meeting is capped at 12 to allow for each person to have discussion time.
-
Yes, because while the group is not a substitute for mental health services, you will be gaining similar, psychology-based information/resources through the leading therapist.
The cost is $20/per month (or $10 per monthly meeting - there will be two each month).
Participants will pay the $20 fee prior to the first meeting of the month, as it’s most beneficial to attend both of them.
-
All books will be available to purchase via Amazon. I have a monthly book schedule below so that participants can purchase their books ahead of time!
-
Use the sign up form below to RSVP for each month!
-
That’s ok! If you know there’s a month that you’re extra busy or have plans on the dates we are meeting, you can skip. You can be selective and join the months you’re able to make or want to be a part of based on the book.
-
The group is open to anyone looking for unique ways to explore self awareness and self improvement. Because it’s virtual, participants can be from anywhere across the US.
-
The group will be running indefinitely, but if you can’t commit to every month, that’s ok! You can join on a month-to-month basis.
