Why Clients Choose Therapy with Me

Adults often aren’t just anxious or stuck. Anxiety, stress, and relationship struggles are often tied to something else, like painful past experiences and learned nervous system responses. The first step in creating meaningful change is understanding these connections. That’s why I help you understand the reason behind why you feel the way you do and what’s causing the same problems to keep showing up.

In therapy, you’ll be given a comfortable, supportive space where you can gently explore + understand these connections, gain clarity, and break unhelpful patterns that are no longer serving you. This way you can feel more at ease in your relationships, better understand your needs + emotions, and overcome anxiety.

I’m not here to fix or judge—I’m here to help sort through it all and feel a little more confident in your life and your relationships.

    • Shut down, go quiet, or avoid conversations when things feel tense

Hi, I’m Chloee. I work with adults and couples who feel stuck and overwhelmed.

Trauma Treatment in St. Louis, Missouri

The adults and couples I work with often look put together on the outside, but are carrying more than they let on. Maybe you feel stuck in cycles of anxiety and overthinking, feel disconnected in your relationships, or are overwhelmed by emotions that don’t make sense.

I’m a Certified Trauma Therapist and specialize in adult attachment and relational patterns. I’ve spent most of my professional experience learning about how past traumatic experiences affect the nervous system, show up in the present, and impact adult relationships. This way I can effectively help and support adults who’ve experienced trauma and/or are struggling in their relationships.

My approach is direct, warm, and focused on giving you the space and tools you need to feel more confident, supported, and equipped to build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Trauma can take many forms, and it does not always come from a single event. I work with adults who have experienced things like childhood trauma, emotional neglect, difficult family dynamics, relationship trauma, and other experiences that may still affect how they feel, cope, and relate to others today.

Many clients come to therapy not necessarily identifying their experiences as “trauma,” but because they notice patterns such as anxiety, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting others, emotional overwhelm, or challenges in relationships. Together, we explore how past experiences may be influencing the present and work toward building greater stability, understanding, and healthier patterns moving forward.

  • Yes, I provide couples counseling for partners who want to better understand the patterns affecting their relationship and develop healthier ways of communicating and connecting.

Couples often seek therapy when they find themselves repeating the same conflicts, feeling disconnected, or struggling to understand each other’s emotional needs. In our work together, we focus on improving communication, understanding underlying emotional triggers, and strengthening the sense of safety and connection within the relationship.

My approach also considers how individual experiences and attachment patterns may influence how partners respond to conflict, closeness, and stress.

  • Being trauma certified means a therapist has completed specialized training in understanding how difficult or overwhelming experiences can affect the brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships. This training focuses on recognizing trauma responses and supporting clients in ways that feel safe, supportive, and appropriately paced.

This training can also be helpful when working with concerns beyond trauma, such as anxiety or relationship stress, because many of these challenges are connected to how the nervous system responds to stress and perceived threat.

  • My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences and the patterns that may be affecting your life or relationships.

In our work together, we will look at both current challenges and the deeper patterns that may be contributing to them. I integrate approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-focused work, nervous system regulation, and narrative therapy to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and responses.

Sessions often include a combination of exploring experiences, identifying patterns, developing practical tools for managing anxiety or conflict, and building greater self-awareness. Therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of helping you develop meaningful and lasting change.
